Review: Dove’s 0% Aluminum Deodorant

Dove sent me their latest aluminum-free deodorant via Influenster for an honest review.

I switched to aluminum-free this year and won’t be turning back after reading more about the dangers of aluminum once it’s absorbed into your body. I threw out old deodorants and started fresh in 2019. First with Love Beauty and Planet’s collection then with milk + honey’s new Stick Deodorant. I currently have Love Beauty Planet’s Murumuru Butter and Rose, Love Beauty Planet’s Coconut Water and Mimosa Flower and milk + honey’s Regular Strength Deodorant No. 09 Lavender and Tea Tree.

When I received Dove’s new Zero Aluminum Pomegranate & Lemon Verbena I was excited to grow my new collection. To be real, my first impression wasn’t that great – the label came lopsided, not impressive for a brand like Dove. It’s a shame considering they wanted me to photograph the product and showcase the exciting new launch. The product itself was great and on par with the quality of others, but when comparing to the two other brands, whose packaging is absolutely gorgeous, it takes away some points for presentation.

I still really want to try their coconut & pink jasmine scent and I’m glad that bigger brands like Dove are joining the movement towards clean beauty. We don’t realize, but so many products that we put on our skin are directly impacting our long-term health. The bigger brands have all the power to change so it says something when they actually choose to do so. When we shave, our underarms are prone to absorbing even more harmful ingredients so these new formulas are essential for your beauty routine.

Whether it’s Dove’s new line of Zero Aluminum deodorants or another, I highly recommend an aluminum-free lifestyle. It’s one less thing you’ll have to worry about!
