Review: Pond’s New Cold Cream Cleansing Balm

I received this free for testing from Influenster for Pond’s latest campaign and product release. It’s been so long since I’ve been selected for a box so when these dreamy colors made their way into my mailbox I was excited to say the least.

If I’m being 100% honest, I RARELY purchase anything Pond’s. Not because I don’t think their products work but because their packaging as always seems outdated. I had yet (until now) to see a product of theirs that competed with the growing skincare industry. It seemed like they were at a standstill, but this product gives me hope that they are slowly making it a point to update their look and create new solutions.

Introducing the new Pond’s Cold Cream Cleansing Balm! The packaging is flawless and you are really getting a bang for your buck. An affordable, drugstore option for a skincare product that is becoming a staple in every routine.

Before this, I had tried and loved Farmacy’s Green Clean and Clinique’s Take The Day Off Balm. Both are absolutely incredibly BUT a bit pricey. They are definitely holy grail items in my collection, but not always in my budget… In comes Pond’s to give another alternative for those who can’t necessarily afford to spend the extra money on similar concepts. Something that is totally OK! The Pond’s jar is 3.38oz which is incredible if comparing it to a full-size of Farmacy’s Green Clean which is 1.7oz 😱

Cleansing balms are so “in” right now. I hate that word, but it’s because of the way balms can remove your makeup without tugging on your skin. Something that might not seem like a big deal now, but come 5-10 years later, you’ll start to see it wearing on your skin through fine lines and loose skin. I remember growing up and being so laid back about my night routine. I didn’t ever really consider the long-term effects that certain methods and makeup removers have on the skin. Gentle is the way to go!

After trying this out, I actually don’t mind the formula and I’m surprised that for a drugstore brand, they’ve developed a product that can do the job well. It definitely took off my makeup, but I will say not to use too much because the cream does transform into an oily consistency which is what helps take off your makeup without pulling on your skin especially helpful around the eyes!

I’m not 100% sure what the price point will be given that it’s not quite in stores yet, but I do know that Pond’s is on the affordable side and can be found at pretty much any drugstore. Keep an eye out for it and once it’s available it will show where you can pick it up on their website.
