Play by Sephora Unboxing: October 2017

IMG_3277September came, September went. Sadly I didn’t receive last month’s box, but this month proved to be well worth the wait! A perfect mix: Urban Decay’s Optical Illusion Complexion Primer (bye bye peeking pores), Tory Burch’s Bel Azur perfume, Dr. Brandt’s PoreDermabrasion Pore Perfecting Exfoliator (a convenient mini version of the full size bottle I got in this month’s Boxycharm), Tarte’s Rainforest of the Sea Marine Boosting Mist, Make Up For Ever’s Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation in Y245 (Soft Sand), and Make Up For Ever’s Ultra HD Skin Booster.

A survival kit for my complexion, this month’s box is perfect for tackling everything we don’t like to talk about. Fine lines, large pores – all the things that naturally come with age.

A delicious blend of citrus and fruits, Tory Burch’s Bel Azur is so refreshing and not overwhelming in the slightest. I’ll definitely be getting a rollerball version of this to throw in my purse before work. It’s divine!

I’ve tried one round of Dr. Brandt’s PoreDermabrasion and was pleased with the results. It’s very gritty which is great for large pores because you can really feel the dirt and grime being removed. I noticed my pores are so much easier to maintain in terms of coverage. With clean pores, I’m able to really use my foundation to smoothly remove the appearance of them. Note: Be sure to use this sparingly (1-2 times per week) as recommended.

To prevent oily skin, I feel like it takes the perfect combination of matte foundation, the right concealer, and a good primer so I’m still trying to figure out if Urban Decay’s Complexion Primer is as blurring and smoothing as it claims to be. It’s said to have a powdery finish, but I want to try it 2-3 more times before getting a solid opinion on if this works for my oily/combination skin.

Very pleased with this box. Ok Sephora… I forgive you for last month’s mishap 😉
